Administrative Full-time Contract Position (January 15, 2025 - August 14, 2025)

The Program & Course Development Consultant, Animal Care will support the development and enhancement of the new Animal Care Programs, including Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Assistant, and Pet Grooming. Under the supervision of the Chair of Animal Care, the incumbent will review and refine completed courses, finalize incomplete courses, and develop new courses where no part-time curriculum developer is assigned. Additionally, the Program & Course Development Consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring all courses meet the accreditation standards set by the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT) and the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC).

**Responsibilities**:

- Develops all content for incomplete courses using existing course outlines in collaboration with the Online Learning Centre (OLC), to ensure courses meet quality control standards
- Regularly meets with Chairs, Instructional Designers, and part-time Curriculum Developers to review program maps and confirms the status of all program courses
- Reviews completed courses to ensure all outcomes are achieved and align with accreditation requirements; communicates all findings to the Chair in a timely manner
- Creates and communicates course revision or development timelines and project management strategies with all stakeholders
- Creates standard operating guidelines, procedures, and safety procedures to support academic and accreditation processes, and insurance requirements for the Animal Care Programs
- Meets with Chair, Institutional Quality Management and other stakeholders to review accreditation requirements for OAVT and CCAC, specifically related to courses

**Qualifications**:

- Two-year diploma in Veterinary Technology, with the professional designation of Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in Ontario or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, etc.) is required
- Minimum of five years of relevant, practical experience as an RVT, DVM and/or developing curriculum is required
- Additional credentials in educational technology, instructional design, or project management will be considered an asset
- Experience in veterinary medicine, working as an RVT or DVM
- Experience with curriculum development and program design and should have knowledge of the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technician’s Program Accreditation requirements and process; knowledge of the Canadian Council on Animal Care GAP Certification is an asset
- Intermediate to advanced level technology skills using core Business software such as the Microsoft Office Suite
- Intermediate to advanced skills using a learning management system
