Donut Time is looking for an R&D Specialist to assist in the improvement of current products and formulation as well as develop and launch new items for current and future customers.

**Job Duties and Responsibilites**:

- Assist in the development and coordination of multiple product development projects, from ideation through formulation, to development for commercial manufacturing.
- To adhere to established priorities for multiple product development projects, as identified by product development leads.
- Sourcing and testing of base components to assure quality standards are met, including managing raw material and finished product testing.
- Evaluate finished products for compliance with specifications (e.g. GFSI, IFS, and PACSecure); investigate/resolve quality issues by working with internal employees and external suppliers to achieve compliance with product specifications
- Working closely with operations and QA to proactively assess manufacturing and food safety requirements. Assist in co-manufacturer and supplier food safety and quality audits when necessary.
- Liaise with company personnel and clients, on technical matters relative to food development projects.
- Maintain comprehensive and detailed records of all above activity.
- Arrange and ship samples for customers.
- Solve and mediate Customer Service issues.
- Handle product development to prepare R&D Lab trial samples for customers’ evaluation and approval for new projects.
- Issue Project Request Form for starting / implementing the approved new projects.
- Maintain daily forms and logs for Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SHRED) tax incentive program to encourage R&D.
- Build a tracker for expected return through the SHRED Program.
- Submit annual reports to the SHRED Canada program in order to officially receive the reported expected return.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
