**The Role**

APC is seeking Park Event Assistants who will report to the Manager, Community & Special Events. The Park Event Assistant (“PEA”) is part of the team responsible for the successful implementation of all Community & Special events at APC. PEA's provide support at all event bookings throughout Assiniboine Park and the Zoo. Events take place in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations, such as the Zoo, Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, Event tents, the Duck Pond, The Leaf and Outdoor Gardens at The Leaf, the Lyric Theatre. Park Event Assistants will set-up, tear down, provide on-site assistance during events and activations, will work closely with other members of the Events Team to coordinate events, wedding ceremonies, special events and will at times assist with office duties.

The Park Event Assistants will be required to understand park policies, have knowledge of all facilities to provide accurate information, and understanding of pricing information to a certain degree and be able to direct inquiries to the appropriate person(s) or departments. PEA's will provide administrative support to the Community & Special Events department and execute a varying number of tasks related to internal and third-party bookings across the Park and Zoo.

**Qualifications**
- A high school diploma and/or GED equivalent.
- A Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Must be able to perform physically strenuous work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Intermediate technology and computer skills.
- Manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and high volumes of diverse work while attending to details.
- A professional and positive demeanour with the ability to work effectively as part of a team with mínimal or no supervision.
- An ability to effectively manage confidential information.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Experience handling payments and following financial procedures is an asset.
- 3 years in the hospitality, food & beverage, or customer service field is an asset.
- The ability to speak French and/or other languages is an asset.
