**Job Title**: Media Coordinator
**Reports to**: Manager, Marketing and Communications
**Supervises**: Part Time Communications team
**Job purpose**
The Media Coordinator works with a team of professional staff that support the student leadership and goals of the organization. The Media Coordinator is responsible for the placement and distribution of communications collateral and copy, The Media Coordinator participates in the implementation of communications strategies to support the CCSAI’s programs and services and acts as the primary media resource for the organization.
This position requires the incumbent to work effectively, and to foster cooperative relationships, with student leaders as part of a student focused organization.
Hours of work: Generally, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with some evening and weekend work. Work may be completed in a hybrid model of in-person and online. Some weekend.
**Duties and responsibilities**
General Duties
- Social Media Management, including, maintaining content calendar, engaging with users online, tracking metrics across platforms.
- Maintains up-to-date website copy and perform regular updates and oversee the upkeep of web blog and other digital content.
- Develop and implement targeted communications and advertising content strategies for a variety of media platforms
- Research, write, proofread and edit all content.
- Develop and execute marketing and advertising campaigns.
- Understand and promote the ongoing services, programs, and other offerings of the CCSAI.
- Develop and distribute content to advance the brand and reputation across all CCSAI Sub-brands.
- Outline, create and ensure completion promotion requests, and approve and distribute content.
Content Creators
- Provide leadership and guidance to part-time student content creators to brainstorm, outline, develop and distribute content.
- Support the CCSAI Engagement Staff - through recruitment, onboarding, hiring, scheduling and delegation of tasks ensuring the team has the resources and information needed to successfully promote the CCSAI
- Provide ongoing, feedback and guidance to all content creators.
Other Duties
- Assists with the administration of the CCSAI office by way of answering student questions and assisting students
- Work collaboratively and effectively with the Student Services and Engagement team to meet the goals of the organization
- Support the CCSAI Engagement programs including events, club, governance or advocacy related programs.
- Fully conversant with, and fully adheres to, the bylaws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the CCSAI
- Attends staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Communications and Marketing and/or the Director(s)
**Qualifications**
Specialized Knowledge:
- Demonstrated knowledge in digital communications and design.
- Solid knowledge of communication principles, best practices and industry standards.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Social Media Platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite, Agorapulse and Teamwork is an asset.
- Up-to-date on changing content creation related programs and technologies.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- A creative thinker who is action oriented and results driven.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new software.
- Ability to stay abreast of current technologies and innovations in relation to digital media.
- Exhibits journalistic skills in reporting, writing and editing of stories and of writing compelling headlines.
- Ability to work independently and to perform effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to consistently exercise good judgement.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with a variety of stakeholders.
- Flexible to travel to all campus locations.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Certificate in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in marketing, brand management, communications, or a related field.
