Personal Support Worker

**ROLE**

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) you will be at the forefront of patient care team. In this role you will performs duties related to patient care under the direction of regulated Health Care Professionals and/or Physicians in accordance with hospital standards, policies and procedures.

**REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)**
- Personal Support Worker Certificate received from an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology program **_OR_** received from an Accredited PSW Educational Program
- BLS Certification

**REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)**
- Have excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Able to organize tasks within time allotted
- Able to work efficiently, effectively and safely in a controlled environment
- Aware of and acknowledge limitations within the role
- Knowledgeable of the policies and procedures directly associated with role
- Maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues and management
- Regular and punctual attendance is a requirement of this position

**DESIRED SKILLS**, EXPERIENCE(S)** & EDUCATION**
- Gentle persuasive approach certificate considered an asset
- Current NVCI training

**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**

**Location**: Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville.Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

**Department**: Med/Surg

**Hours of Work**:Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
