**Position Overview**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate Class 1 trucks with **flatbed, curtainside, LTL deliveries, and float trailers** to transport freight safely to assigned destinations.
- **Handle heavy haul/oversized loads** in compliance with regulations and permit requirements.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and regulatory compliance.
- Load and unload cargo as required, occasionally utilizing forklifts or other heavy equipment.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, driver logs, and vehicle maintenance documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members to ensure smooth scheduling and resolve any issues during transport.
- Adhere strictly to all applicable local, provincial/state, and federal transportation laws and safety regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and promptly report any mechanical problems.
**Qualifications**
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s License (or equivalent commercial license) is required.
- Experience operating **flatbed, float trailers, curtainside, and LTL deliveries**, and performing tarping is preferred.
- Prior experience with **heavy haul or oversized loads** is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with freight routes across Quebec, Ontario, PEI, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the USA is an asset.
- Basic vehicle maintenance skills and heavy equipment operation knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with dispatch and clients.
- Physical ability to handle loading/unloading when needed.
