**Personal Support Worker - In a private home**

We seek compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support and assistance to a gentleman with early dementia. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for our clients by offering personalized care and ensuring their safety and well-being.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Cooking, Assisting with meal preparation and feeding.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and laundry
- Pet care: small dogs and 2 parrots
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients
- Monitor and report changes in clients' physical or mental health to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by supervisors or healthcare professionals

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in home care, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques is a plus
- Ability to provide patient-centered care with empathy and compassion
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to adapt to different environments and handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Caregiving: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Licence (preferred)
