**Transit Supervisor**

PW Transit is seeking a full-time Transit Supervisor for its location in Comox, BC.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will supervise a group of 60 Transit Operators, between the Comox Valley and Campbell River, ensuring passenger needs are met while providing leadership and support for our team.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 5 years of previous commercial driving experience
- Class 2 driver’s license and air brake endorsement
- Clear driver’s abstract
- No criminal convictions or pending charges relating directly to this position
- Significant skills dealing effectively with the public, including demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, problem solving, and sound decision-making in positions providing customer service
- Ability to understand, speak and write English in order to communicate effectively with drivers
- Demonstrated aptitude for conflict resolution and customer service

**Supervisor Responsibilities**:

- Deliver, maintain, and if necessary, restore effective transit service
- Provide direct, on-road supervision, coaching and direction for all transit operators in their daily work
- Respond quickly to route, scheduling, and on-road mechanical problems
- Conduct an annual formal evaluation of all Conventional, Custom and Community transit operators
- Monitor radio communications, responding to day-to-day on-road operational issues to ensure correct procedures are adhered to and passenger transfers are coordinated
- Perform audits of on-time performance (covertly and overtly)
- Verify compliance (and correct staff if required) with statutes and regulations
- Dispatch and make temporary changes to routing, driver and vehicle assignments as required by traffic, capacity, breakdowns or road and weather conditions.
- Initiate emergency assistance procedures and respond in the event of vehicle collisions or passenger injuries, and initiate associated formal incident investigations
- Will maintain a daily log of events including, but not limited to missed service, late service, customer concerns, passenger pass ups, notes to driver records, commendations, and infractions
- Identify workplace safety hazards, as well as develop, and implement controls
- Provide on-street and on-board routing and scheduling advice for operators
- Resolve informal complaints and investigate written complaints from transit customers and employees
- Participate in the planning and implementation of road closures and special events by liaising with event planners and municipal and highway officials
- In the absence of the Manager or General Manager, take charge of the day-to-day transit activities while on duty

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
