**Overview**

**Duties**
- Operate heavy trucks to transport freight over long distances.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, including forklifts when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations governing commercial driving.
- Perform minor automotive repairs as needed to ensure vehicle readiness.

**Skills**
- Proficient in heavy equipment operation with a focus on safe driving practices.
- Experience in freight handling and logistics management.
- Valid commercial driving license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of automotive repair to address minor vehicle issues on the road.
- Familiarity with forklift operation for loading and unloading cargo is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently while on the road.
