Location: MWS Camps Toronto, University of Toronto and MWS Camps Montreal, McGill University

Start date: June 23 - August 11. This is a residential position. There will be training days prior to the start of employment.

Compensation: $6000.00 for dates noted above. Contract terms include all meals, single room accommodation, and entrance to all excursions and activities. Director will have 1 day off per week.

Established in 1983, MWS Student Camps has welcomed thousands of young people from more than 50 nations to our camps. From the beginning, we have strived to offer and operate innovative, vibrant, and exciting programmes. Our MWS Camps are centrally located at the University of Toronto and McGill University allowing us access to so much the cities have to offer and providing our students with a full language immersion experience.

The MWS Leadership Programme is designed to focus on creating building blocks of communication, personal confidence and leadership opportunities. Through seminars, interactive projects, volunteer experiences and camp placements as LITs (leaders-in-training), participants acquire a foundation of skills to help navigate personal and professional challenges and assume various leadership roles.

Our Leadership Programme Director is responsible for the management and supervision of our LITs. The LP director is responsible for guiding and instructing the LITs through the schedule of activities in ensure they reach the expected outcomes. They will accompany the LITs for all schedule activities, at meals, and travel between Montreal and Toronto. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Organizing and leading various leadership and skill building workshops throughout the programme
- Communication with all Camp Directors regarding operation of LIT Programme
- Supervision of LITs at all times (this includes providing ongoing activities and encouragement).
- LIT Management: on-going evaluations and programme development with assistance from MWS office
- Other duties and responsibilities in order to ensure a safe and positive environment for all campers and staff

Qualifications & Experience:

- Post-Secondary student or higher
- Fluent in English
- Experience in a director and/or programming role is an asset
- Volunteer and/or work experience with youth in a camp setting and/or educational environment
- Fluency in other languages is an asset but not required
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and appreciated of diversity and social inclusivity
- Able to work collaboratively with directors and leaders
- Strong conflict resolution skills

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 weeks
