**Job Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create precise estimates and manage project data.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimation process.
- Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms.
- Review and analyze bid proposals, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid packages and presenting estimates to stakeholders.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project, making adjustments as necessary to stay within budget.
**Experience**
- Proven experience in construction estimating. Has to have experience in painting
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods is required.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam, planswift is preferred.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing competitive pricing from vendors.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are critical for success in this role.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Etobicoke, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
