**Position: Assistant Production Manager**

**Reports to**: Production Manager

**Job Summary**:
The Assistant Production Manager is responsible (with support from the Production Manager) for ensuring smooth operation of all shifts to meet production targets and quality standards, with particular attention paid to shipping, receiving and warehouse.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide leadership, direction and guidance to production staff.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Site Allergen Program and BRC Principles
- Supervision, evaluation, motivation and training of personnel to ensure work is completed efficiently, effectively and safely
- Ensure that safe conditions exist at all times within the work environment; will take appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees
- Ensure the efficient and effective use of manpower, equipment and material resources
- Schedule equipment and staff to ensure production requirements are met on a timely basis
- Develop and foster strong and effective functional and cross-functional teams that effectively change systems and procedures through the process of continuous improvement
- Effectively use daily production information to track costs, measure trends, and communicate results, positively re-enforce success and initiate corrective action when appropriate
- Ensure the Company’s food safety, quality and sanitation standards are met through close liaison with Quality Services, full participation in the BRC program, as well as frequent review and implementation of Company and Government Policies
- Administer environmental policies and ensure regulations are followed
- Communicate with the Maintenance contractors to maximize machine efficiencies and monitor equipment performance

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum Grade 12 Education with good oral and written English skills
- College diploma considered an asset
- 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing in a Supervisor capacity _*In food manufacturing is considered an asset*_
- _Strong mathematical skills_
- Working knowledge of computers (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel)
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative, work well under pressure

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: $80,000 to $85,000
