Cedarwood Station is an Independent Senior Living community in the heart of Airdrie, and we are looking for some amazing Health Care Aides to join our team

Reporting to the General Manager and and working under the leadership of a Licensed Practical Nurse, the Care Aide assists residents with all activities of daily living.

$17.00/ per hour to start, with a built-in wage grid. No heavy lifting required Looking to fill one Full Time position as well as Casuals. We offer a fun, family-like environment that allows for plenty of engagement with our residents

**Duties Include**:
Directs and assists residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, washing, bowel and bladder care, dressing, and caring for teeth, hair, nails and skin.

Is aware of the Resident Bill of Rights and endeavors to respect and promote it.

Complies with the care homes and department work standards, policies and procedures.

Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families and co-workers using the appropriate lines of communications.

Follows through with the care plan as set out by the LPN Care Services Lead, ensuring that it is strictly followed.

Attends report with Team Leader per duty of care.

Observes residents for any changes and reports immediately to LPN.

Promptly answers call bells and responds to requests for assistance from residents.

Performs routine procedures within the HCA scope and as directed by the Care Plan.

Performs light housekeeping chores around the home.

**Qualifications Required**:
Graduation from an accredited Health Care Aide Program or an equivalent as set out by AHS guidelines. Must also have an active status on the HCA Directory;
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing;
Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and deal with residents, families and peers effectively;
Physical and mental ability to carry out the duties of the position;
Ability to organize and prioritize workloads;
Ability to operate equipment related to the job efficiently and safely;
Negative criminal record and vulnerable sector check;
Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.
- The health of our residents is important to us. All team members need to have at least two vaccinations against COVID-19.

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour
