We are seeking an additional experienced **Network Specialist** to join our highly technical Network Services team.

Reporting to the Network Supervisor, the Network Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of public safety and critical 911 voice networks. This position is responsible for providing second-level network support, troubleshooting advanced network issues, performing proactive maintenance, and documenting network activities. The Network Specialist will also participate in the implementation, support, tuning, and management of enterprise-wide, life-critical networks and services, helping to maintain E-Comm's high standards of reliability for its partners.

Key to your success will be proven experience with VPN, Cloud networks, routing protocols, Cisco ISE, CISCO switches/routers and Paulo Alto firewalls. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to E-Comm’s life-critical network services, supporting public safety across our community.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Network Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting**: Continuously monitoring network performance, proactively addressing issues, and conducting tuning to align with service agreements
- **Configuration & Maintenance**: Analyzing, configuring, and resolving network-related issues (e.g., security and performance metrics) to ensure network responsiveness, efficiency, and stability; working alongside the Senior Network Specialist to implement equipment changes and configurations
- **Incident & Problem Management**: Providing second-level support, performing incident diagnosis and root cause analysis on system performance issues; maintaining accurate records, documents, and statistics related to network operations and incident resolutions
- **Technology & Best Practice Awareness**: Staying current with evolving network technologies, best practices, security threats, and protection mechanisms to ensure optimal network safety and performance
- **Documentation & Communication**: Preparing and maintaining various technical documents and records; effectively communicating technical concepts, advice, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders

**What you will bring**:

- Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or a combination of equivalent training and hands-on experience will also be considered
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required
- CCNP Certificate would be advantageous
- ITIL Foundation v3 (or later) accreditation is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of network technologies and standards, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, encryption, routing protocols, high availability protocols, and virtualization technologies
- Cloud networking experience would be an asset
- Strong ability to troubleshoot complex network issues, perform testing, and conduct root cause analysis to address network challenges effectively
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, customers, and external partners
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear advice and presentations
- Ability to manage tasks and responsibilities with mínimal supervision, prioritizing network stability and performance

**Security Requirements**:
As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 5 years.

**Vaccination Policy**:E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
