Job Description:
We are looking for a full time Front of House Assistant Manager to assist our current Front of House Manager to organize daily operations and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service at our bakery cafe on Pender Island. **Accommodations are available for the successful applicant.**

Front of House Assistant Manager responsibilities include but not limited to assisting in scheduling shifts for baristas, monitoring inventory levels and ordering supplies (such as coffee, milk and consumables on a weekly basis), and manage minor HR issues. To be successful in this role, you will have work experience with various roles in coffee shops, including managerial experience, and must be available to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays.

This is an exceedingly rare and unique opportunity on Pender Island as HOUSING is included for the right applicant. In exchange for your private guest room with ocean view and bathroom, you are asked to dogsit a few days a week, and do some very light housekeeping or pay $500.00/month rent. The housekeeping is optional, but the dog sitting is a requirement.

**Responsibilities**:
Assist Front of House Manager to:

- Manage day-to-day operations of the cafe
- Hire and onboard new wait staff and baristas
- Train employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment and TouchBistro software
- Coordinate with vendors and order supplies, as needed (like takeaway cups, coffee, milk and other supplies)
- Work in conjunction with General Manager to develop and implement seasonal sales campaigns
- Work in conjunction with General Manager to resolve HR issues
- Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and deliver excellent customer service
- Ensure all cafe areas are clean and tidy
- Nurture friendly relationships with customers
- **Dog and house sitting as required
- **Weekly light housekeeping (or $500.00/month rent)

Requirements and Skills:

- Work experience as a Cafe Manager
- Hands-on experience with professional coffee and espresso machines
- Great math skills
- Availability to work full time within opening hours (including weekends and holidays)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Customer service attitude
- Certification in Business Administration or Hospitality is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle
- Both personal and professional references required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $36,402.99-$60,900.37 per year
