Are you a driven and Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator looking to work for a fun and dynamic company?
Horizon Contracting Group - Earthworks Division is looking to bring on some full-time operators.
**Your Qualifications**:
- Trades education an asset
- Mobile equipment (Skid Steer, Excavator) certification an asset
- 5000+ hours of skid steer and excavator operation
**Responsibilities**:
- Complete jobs using a variety of tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Power tools, compactors, cut-off saws, sledgehammers
- Mobile equipment: skid steer with attachments (concrete breaker, sweeper), excavator (all sizes), backhoe, dozer, front end loader
- Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and complete minor maintenance as required
- Lubrication
- Fueling
- Cleaning
- Load, unload and transport construction materials
- Able to set up, use and take down laser level to set elevations
- Manual labour including but not limited to shoveling, hand digging, raking
- Assist other operators on site as required
- Level the earth to fine grade specifications
- Measure distances from reference points to locate the boundaries of site
- Understand the issues involving ground disturbance and able to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment
- Participate in safety meetings and form completion on a regular basis:
- FLRA
- Inspections
- Checklists
- Toolbox Talks
- Clean and pile salvaged materials
- Bulk Excavations
- Able to read and understand blueprints and detail sections to determine and set grades
- Light civil installation
- Detailed excavating
- Remove rubble and debris as required
- Direct traffic as required
- Pursue ongoing education sponsored by the Company as required
- All other tasks assigned by site supervisor
