The Manager, Event Sales and Services will work directly with the Sales and Marketing team to ensure a strong well-rounded schedule of events is slated for each season at Blue Mountain Resort. Events will be focused upon driving demand in off peak periods, improving guest satisfaction and experience, and creating passion/loyalty for the Brand. The selected person will be required to work directly with all resort departments and external parties by providing the necessary information and planning so that these various departments can assist in the on-time delivery of services to create a successful event with the largest amount of public reach.

**WHAT WILL I BE DOING?**

**Event Development and Planning**
- Create a long-term strategic plan for Resort events
- Draft all venue and hospitality contracts for major events for Blue Mountain Resort legal department
- Negotiate all operational venue fees and resort services for third party events
- Collaborate directly with other departments, DMO, DO, DC, PSO to execute approved event concepts and drive business where possible
- Create and implement event plans, which includes site surveys, scheduling, site design
- Act as a liaison between Blue Mountain and third party event planners who are submitting proposals; select and recommend the appropriate third party events for the resort that align with our brand
- Create and co-ordinate event schedules and resort wide calendar with other resort business units, involved parties, sponsors and external events including external stakeholders such as the Blue Mountain Village Association and Toronto Ski Club
- Collaborate with the Marketing department in developing and executing a marketing and promotions plan for all mountain events
- Manage the use of hill space and all other outdoor venue space including the coordination of Blue Mountain Village Association proper
- ** Sponsorship**:

- Manage all sampling, demo and sponsorship activations
- Negotiate possible sampling and sponsorship opportunities, draft sampling contracts
- Work directly with all corporate partners on event activation plans
- With Director, Marketing follow up with all sponsors on activation and event success
- Create a resort hill space calendar and approve all usage of space
- Complete market research to develop new sponsorship relation
- ** Event Risk Management**:

- Collaborate with Risk Management Team to mitigate risk associated to mountain events
- Work directly with the Risk Management team to ensure all liability, levels of insurance, WSIB Certificates, and waivers are in place for events, demo / sampling, and sponsorship activation
- Responsible for participant and employee safety as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act

**WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME?**

Event production and execution many times require intense decision making under unusual situations. The Event Manager may be required to make decisions that alter the event, participant experience, finish outcome. In preparation for these possible situations the Manager will have to prepare for numerous outcomes. The r Manager, Event Sales and Services must be able to work with 3rd Party Event Production Manager and Manager, Event Operations to make pragmatic decisions during times of crisis to ensure the health and safety of all participants and spectators.

- Catastrophe
- Weather of all types; storm, tornado, rain, snow, etc
- Death of participant or other
- Fire
- Injury
- Infrastructure collapse or unforeseen equipment malfunction
- Unforeseen 3rd party supplier shortcomings
