General Labourer

Genaire Limited is an Aerospace Manufacturing, Repair and Overhaul Facility supporting Military, Corporate and Commercial aviation clients.

We are currently seeking a General Labourer for our sheet metal department that has a passion for hands on work. Some of the jobs performed may be physically strenuous and some specialized tasks may require on-the job training. Other jobs require little skill and can be learned quickly. The General Labourer position allows for individuals to learn various roles within our operation.

The job duties of a General Labourer may vary but they will generally require using different hand tools and machines, grinders, saws, drills, air tools, pressure washers, buffers and water spraying equipment; perhaps driving forklifts, reading gauges, cleaning parts, tools and or the facility.

We are specifically seeking a General Labourer with some or all of these skills/experience:

- Sheet Metal Assembly/Fabrication

If you already possess some or all of these skills through previous work experience, please provide details and your resume will be given preference.

Additional preference will be given to any individual that has tow motor certification, first aid certification, 5S certification and/or health and safety certification.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Prepare raw material and necessary supplies
- Follow work control sheets and verbal instructions
- Maintain product quality during production
- Communicate work issues in a timely fashion
- Maintain proper records and recording of information
- Ensure work area is clean and organized on an ongoing basis and maintain the 5S Program within the plant
- Proactively identity, report and support health and safety initiatives, issues and polices
- Assist employees with other job functions as required
- Assist with Janitorial duties

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Clean drivers abstract and criminal background check
- Verifiable work history that shows professional skills and experience
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or repair facility
- Ability to work on tasks that are generally repetitive in nature
- Comfortable working with machines and power tools
- Ability to interact with co-workers to exchange information about tasks and to co-ordinate work.
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Good hand eye coordination and dexterity
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical data/reports.
- Required to remain focused, alert and able to concentrate for extended periods of time
- Must be physically fit and able to perform the work involved and lift 50lbs
- Able to read, write and speak English fluently
- Self-motivated, punctual, reliable and highly safety conscious
- Ability to work mainly independently but also with partners or as part of a team to carry out tasks which require co-operation, and consideration of others
- Ability to follow instructions and directions from others
- Access to reliable transportation (own vehicle preferred)
- CSA approved safety boots and safety glasses

**ASSETS**
- Knowledge or certification in mechanical repair and sheet metal assembly/fabrication
- Health and Safety certification
- First Aid Certification
- Tow Motor Certification

**Salary**: $19.40-$20.40 per hour
