**Design Lead (on-site in Brantford)**
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will manage the workload and priorities for multiple designers, overseeing the supply of accurate drawings and electronic data to Production. Using your strong understanding of manufacturing and design principles, you will provide design guidance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
**What will YOU be doing as a Design Lead**
- Lead a team of designers, coordinate projects, and facilitate training activities for new Design team members.
- Liaise with the Sales Department, Product Coordinator, and dealer network to define custom product requirements.
- Make improvements to design processes and how drawings/data are released.
- Communicate with both internal and external personnel including Executives, Managers, Production Supervisors, Production Operators, Sales Coordinators, Suppliers, outside sales and dealers.
- Provide backup to the Product Coordinator, Product Designer and Manufacturing when needed.
- Support initiatives based on goals established by the Engineering Manager.
**What YOU bring to the table**
- A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Skilled in Solidworks CAD software; the ability to read blueprints and data sheets.
- Excellent people management skills to lead a team of designers.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to achieve quality standards.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience with sheet metal manufacturing and welding, plumbing and electrical components is an asset.
