**Service Aide - Housekeeping & Laundry**

Reports To: Services Director

**Position Summary**:
Under the direction of the Environmental Services Supervisor, ensures a clean, sanitary and safe home-like environment, within an interdisciplinary, resident-focused team, consistent with the Mission and Vision of One Kenton Place.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain a clean, safe environment in the residence.
- Understand and follow the residence infection control protocols.
- Work as a member of a team with all other residence personnel.
- Be knowledgeable of and practice residence's fire and safety programs.
- Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in a retirement home.
- Ability to speak, read and write English. Must be able to follow oral and written directions and to do simple arithmetic calculations.
- Ability to do extensive standing, walking, squatting, kneeling and moving of light objects.
- Must provide a medical certificate from a physician annually, stating physical and mental capability for this position. Must be free of communicable diseases.
- Clean, dust and vacuum residents' bedrooms and public areas of the residence, i.e., lounges, corridors and elevators.
- Clean and sanitize residents' bathroom and all washrooms in the residence, including all fixtures, tiles, floors, vanity and mirrors.
- Clean rooms vacated by residents and prepare rooms for incoming residents.
- Collect refuse from residents' rooms and other areas of the residence and dispose of this refuse in accordance with set procedures.
- Clean and organize outdoor and patio furniture.
- Water and care for plants in the residence.
- Clean and restock housekeeping cart.
- Report malfunctions in equipment and repairs needed to the Services Director and/or Maintenance Manager through the Maintenance Memo Book.
- Notify Services Director and/or Environmental Manager when housecleaning suppliers are low.

**Dress Requirements**:

- Clean, washable uniform.
- Serviceable, closed-toe shoes.
- Minimum amount of jewelry.
- No nail polish permitted.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $15.50-$15.75 per hour
