**Location**: Campbell River Food Bank
**Wage**: $20.00/hour
**Hours**:

- Monday-Wednesday, 7:00 am-11:00am
- Thursday, Friday, 6:30 am - 11:30 am
- Saturday, 7:00am-9:00am
- **Approximately 24 hours/week**

**Flexibility**: Occasional late shifts, weekends, and additional hours during fundraising events or peak seasons

**Position Summary**

The Part-Time Truck Driver & Assistant plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the Food Bank. Driving our 3-ton truck with power lift, this team member is responsible for morning food donation pickups from local grocery store partners. They assist with unloading, sorting, tracking all incoming and outgoing products, and working alongside volunteers and staff. Due to higher donation volumes early in the week, additional help on the loads is necessary on Mondays Tuesdays and Wednesday

**Key Responsibilities**
- Build strong relationships with donors—_you’ll be the first person they see and a vital part of our public image._

Drive a 3-ton truck to collect food donations from local grocery stores

Build respectful and cooperative relationships with store receiving teams
- Unload, sort, and organize incoming donations according to food safety standards
- **Record and track all incoming and outgoing food donations accurately**:

- Assist in preparing agency orders and coordinating pickups
- **Support extra food pickups at the beginning of the week to accommodate larger volumes**:

- Operate a forklift and other equipment safely (training provided if needed)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and support volunteers
- Representing the Campbell River Food Bank’s values with professionalism and compassion
- Knowledge of Microsoft programs.

**Qualifications**
- Public relations skills and ability to build positive relationships with our donors
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Driver’s abstract required annually
- Experienced operating a 3-ton truck with power lift
- _Current forklift experience required_ (certification is an asset)
- Valid Food Safe and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain—training provided)
- Able to lift to **75 lbs.** and work in a physically demanding environment
- Organized, reliable, and attentive to detail
- Comfortable supporting and working alongside volunteers from diverse backgrounds
- Must sign and adhere to the Food Bank’s **Standards of Excellence protocols**:

- Prior experience in delivery, food recovery, or warehouse logistics is an asset
- A strong desire to support food security and make a positive impact on the community
