Position: Estimator, Commercial/Residential Roofing Division

Roofmart, a major Canadian distributor of residential, commercial
_Roofing_ and
_Siding_ products, requires an Estimator to join our organization. With over 50 Roofmart locations across Canada, we are strategically positioned to handle all our customer needs.

We are looking for Enthusiastic, Driven, Outside of the Box Thinkers to help us grow our business. In the specialized role of Estimator, you will be a valuable and key member of our Roofmart team.

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, preparing all parts of an estimate, and carrying out other duties as required. This position will involve occasional travel. This position will report to the General Manager.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- You will work in conjunction with the sales and management teams.
- You will be actively seeking and downloading projects to estimate from construction association websites.
- You will be analyzing blueprints and other documentation to assemble accurate estimates and proposals.
- You will need to ensure that all estimates meet the requirements of the material specified or an equivalent.
- You will be responsible for generating estimates for commercial/residential roofing and exterior cladding projects.
- Estimates must take into consideration provincial building code and municipal building regulations as outlined in the specifications.
- Adhere to contractual terms and conditions on various aspects of commercial/residential building projects.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that pricing is both current and accurate and that you manage the material costing database.
- Provide clear and detailed material quantity take offs.
- Ensure proper material lead times are documented for the client as well as opportunities/costs to make changes to their order in conjunction with the sales reps.
- Maintain relationships with contractors and clients regarding questions on projects.
- Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products.
- Make sure that all projects estimated are input into Sales Force and are updated when new information is presented by sales staff or customers.
- Prepare shop drawings that are related to the project for architectural and customer approvals.
- Consult and communicate with project managers and clients involved at all levels of a project regarding changes, addendums etc.
- Make any necessary adjustments to outstanding quotations as price increases or changes to products that have been quoted are announced.

Experience and Skills
- Graduate from a recognized engineering, architectural or construction management program is an asset (Technician or Technologist) with working knowledge of AutoCAd.
- Experience working in the construction field in a similar or related position is an asset.
- General Commercial/Residential Roofing Knowledge is an asset.
- Ability to analyze information closely, estimate, plan, and pay attention to detail.
- Estimating knowledge - ability to read architectural plans and specifications a big asset.
- Experience with sloped/tapered roof insulation or siding an asset.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with any Estimating Software is a benefit.
