Reporting to the Site Operations Leader or designate and in alignment with the creation of a vibrant community, the position is responsible for developing, organizing and delivering a variety of social and recreational activities for tenants. Interacts with tenants in order to ascertain their preferences for activities and encourages regular participation. Develops respectful and positive relationships with tenants, which are supportive of their choices. Works with staff to create special events and the celebration of special holidays and occasions. Makes recommendations on the activity budget, tracks and monitors expenditures and provides financial records as needed. Directs volunteers to assist with activities as required and ensures equipment and supplies are maintained and re-ordered as necessary. Provides input and suggestions in Staff meetings and Tenant/Family meetings as requested.
**Skills**: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others. Ability to operate related equipment. Ability to organize and prioritize. Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients. Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients. Knowledge of, and ability to do, various arts and crafts, handicrafts, and sport activities. Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation process. Ability to develop, organize, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate individual and group activities. Ability to supervise. Ability to instruct. Ability to analyze and resolve problems. Knowledge of adult learning techniques.
**Education**: Diploma in Recreation Service Delivery and recent related experience of two years, Certificates in CPR and First Aid or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work.
