ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Setup, align, and secure pre-designed and built work-holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and steel materials on all manual and CNC lathes.
- Interprets blueprints to understand the requirements in terms of dimensions and tolerances of finished work-piece, pre-established sequence of operations, and pre-established setup requirements.
- Understands pre-established tool selection and controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to input, or edit computerized/manual lathe controls.
- Starts and observes lathe operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.
- Perform other duties, such as broaching or bushing installation, as required from time to time.
- Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications.
- Confer with supervisor (or production personnel designated by the supervisor) to resolve machining problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role. A General Machinist Certification is an asset
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Two years of work experience or related work experience and/or training

**Salary**: From $27.90 per hour
