Description*
Reporting to the VP Investment & Partnerships, the Sponsorship Manager serves as a key member of the business development team and an active participant in developing and maintaining sponsor relationships on multiple levels.
The Sponsorship Manager is responsible for managing the sponsorship efforts for Amii and Amii-produced events (I.e. AI Week). This position will focus on cultivating relationships with new sponsors/partners while also managing existing relationships. The position will also be responsible for researching and evaluating suitable target prospects in markets across North America, and for compiling the information needed to approach prospects. This position reports to the Vice President Investment and Partnerships while also liaising with a Senior Partnerships consultant as required.
The role focuses on achieving excellence in three main accountabilities:
- Sponsor relationship building and maintenance
- Managing the sponsorship strategy while ensuring alignment with business needs
- Enabling an exceptional sponsor experience with Amii
**Required Skills / Expertise**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Maintain a suitable database of all sponsorship activity such as progress timelines and sponsorship contract details and values.
- Regularly review upcoming and existing sponsorship agreements.
- Obtain all required information from sponsors such as contact information, corporate logos, banners and any other materials specified in a sponsorship agreement and work with internal teams to ensure that Amii fulfills on its commitments to sponsors.
- Ensure that sponsorship packages, presentations and proposals are complete, executed, and updated when necessary by required deadlines.
- Draft sponsorship proposals and present to prospective sponsors (with assistance from senior Amii representatives).
- Coordinate with internal teams to activate and fulfill sponsorship activations.
- Coordinate with internal teams to develop sponsorship presentations and proposals.
- Develop and maintain solid, lasting, long-term relationships with existing sponsors to nurture success and reduce churn.
- Develop initiatives to research, investigate and recruit new sponsors.
- Improve processes and best practices throughout the entire sponsor journey.
- Develop a thorough understanding of our products,service offerings, and events to procure new sponsors.
- Be the first point of contact for potential Amii event sponsors.
- Conduct discovery calls with sponsors,including presenting sponsorship proposals, and articulating Amii’s ability to help sponsors achieve their objectives through Amii event sponsorship.
- Report on active opportunities, expected close dates and new revenue potential opportunities.
- Maintain and grow the sponsorship opportunity pipeline.
- Ensure all sponsor information related to sponsorship opportunities is tracked in Amii’s CRM.
- Perform other duties and projects as required.
**Qualifications**
- 5+ years experience in a sponsorship, fundraising or hospitality role, or other business development role.
- University Degree in a related field (or equivalent relevant job experience)
- Proven negotiating and people skills
- Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to work as part of a larger team and to influence teams across functional areas
- Tech savvy with an ability to effectively use a variety of tech tools including modern CRMs.
