The ICN Operations team is looking for someone with Technical Network competencies/ as well as excellent communication skills.
The store network support will be responsible for supporting Client’s store. Work with different service provider to ensure service availability.
The Network support will act as a front line support will be involved in the management of store support
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
Be on call and support retails stores in all time zones across Canada
- Support Internet connectivity on behalf of retail stores
- remotely support the store by troubleshooting with the store employees who are non-technical
- work with ISPs to resolve internet connectivity issues with remote locations
- book and manage service calls with the ISP and communicate with the store
- Maintain the retail network by proactively monitoring network health and responding to issues and outages
- Manage security of the network by monitoring ports and devices. Removing and granting access to devices as required.
- Respond to user generated trouble tickets for issues such as “unable to connect to network”, “page cannot be displayed” and “the network is slow”
Essential Competencies/Skills:
- must have excellent communication skills
- bi-lingual French English preferred
- must be comfortable cold calling ISPs and Stores, with a friendly attitude
- understand and troubleshoot Wan connections, PPPoE, DHCP and static IP services
- must have good understanding of IPv4
- must have experience with Internet facing firewalls, Fortigate firewalls is a plus
- understand various VPN technologies
- be familiar with Layer 2 switching, understand vlans
- have an understanding of network security, 802.1x and MAC control
- basic understanding of BGP and other routing protocols
- basic understanding of traffic shaping and bandwidth management
- Understand Wifi and how devices connect to wifi.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 year working knowledge IP (WAN/LAN) infrastructures
- Basic knowledge of the OSI model, TCP/IP protocol stack, network protocols such as DNS, DHCP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, VOIP, etc
- Minimum of 3 years working as a Front line network support
Working Conditions:
- Work hours are Monday - Friday, normal 37.5 hours weeks
- Work start and finish times are flexible.
- Rotational On Call
- Asset Bi-lingual (English and French)
- Office & Work from home model.
