**Duties**:
The Kinesiology program at Vancouver Island University (VIU) offers a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree. The department has several openings for sessional instructors in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. The openings include:
Fall 2025:
KIN 192C - Special Activities in Kinesiology: Group Fitness
KIN 192D - Special Activities in Kinesiology: Physical Activity and Nature
KIN 202 - Introduction to Motor Learning and Control (2 sections)
KIN 492D - Special Topics in Kinesiology: Women's Health Across the Lifespan

Spring 2026:
KIN 135 - Yoga
KIN 292B - Introductory Special Topics in Kinesiology: Introduction to Ergonomics
KIN 352 - Nutrition for Health and Sport
KIN 492E - Special Topics in Kinesiology: Active Rehabilitation

The department is searching for dynamic faculty members who are committed to teaching and learning excellence with a strong interest in student engagement and success.

**Required Qualifications**:

- For 100 level courses, a minimum bachelor's degree in a Kinesiology-related field from an appropriately accredited institution or equivalent education and activity related experience.
- For 200 to 400 level courses, a minimum Masters (PhD preferred) in a Kinesiology-related field from an appropriately accredited institution or equivalent education and professional experience.
- Evidence of an ability to be responsive to diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.
- Willingness and ability to function effectively in-person and virtually, in a team-oriented environment.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- For 100 level courses, relevant certifications from accredited training body, instructional experience in the activity and/or a combination of both.
- For 200-400 level course, demonstrated flexibility in course design including online and blended delivery, demonstrated proficiency in post-secondary teaching.
