**Responsibilities**:

- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Complies with applicable and local warehousing, provincial safety legislation, safe equipment usage material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by estimating storage requirements, planning, and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; arranging for repair or replacement.
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals.
- Oversee and manage logistics utilized to transport products to customers by dispatching trucks to service customers and communicating with drivers.
- Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

**Qualifications and experience**
- High school degree or equivalent
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team.
- Skills in inventory control and management
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in a warehouse environment
- Two years of warehouse management experience preferred
- Previous knowledge with bar code system an asset
- Prior experience with heavy duty parts cataloguing systems an asset
- Experience working with warehouse equipment (i.e., forklift certification)
- Exceptional active listening, communication, reading comprehension, and customer service orientation skills - written and oral
- Proficient computer skills (Office, Outlook)
- Ability to motivate a team
- Able to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines

**Working conditions and physical demands**:

- Handling of normal stock will include lifting or carrying parts exceedingly more than 60 lbs. up to 15% of the time. Majority of lifting and carrying will involve parts between 5 and 60 lbs.
- Frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Fast paced environment
- Varying seasonal temperatures with a mix of indoor and outdoor work
- Occasional extended working hours to accommodate business needs.

**Equipment**:

- CSA approved safety toed shoes required from the first day of this job.
- Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be worn when required and necessary.
- Computer for electronic tracking of stock
- Additional training using forklift, wave, aerial lift may be required as per management.
