BCIT’s **School of Construction and the Environment **is seeking a **regular, full-time (1.0 **FTE**) Faculty** to teach in the Master of Science Ecological Restoration.BCIT’s **Master of Science (MSc) **in **Ecological Restoration **is a North American leader in this emerging discipline. The program provides graduates with world-class knowledge of science and applied and technical skills needed to restore a broad range of degraded ecosystems. The program has been designed to advance the science and practice of ecological restoration. Students work with our Faculty and industry partners on a wide range of research and restoration projects, thereby gaining experience in addressing many current environmental challenges. Graduates have an excellent track record of securing positions with consulting companies, non-profit organizations, and all levels of government, including Indigenous governments.**Duties & Responsibilities**General responsibilities will include providing support for course**Qualifications**

**MINIMUM**

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- PhD in ecological restoration, applied ecology, environmental science, physical geography, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of experience in an applied ecology field.
- Knowledge and experience working in aquatic ecosystems in British Columbia.
- Ability to design and implement a range of assessments in the posted area of teaching.
- Excellent communication (including technical writing), organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to do research in the field of ecological restoration
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collegial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability needed to effectively manage the dynamic conditions and logistics associated with our applied programs.
- Ability to combine multiple sources of knowledge in a teaching context, particularly with engaging relevant Indigenous knowledge-holders and environmental stewards.
- Recent experience and knowledge of industry-standard safety protocols.
- Experience with curriculum development
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the post-secondary and graduate level in both classroom and field settings.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise graduate research projects

**PREFERRED**

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Knowledge of and experience with the principles of terrestrial and aquatic ecological restoration/environmental management.
- A demonstrated ability to publish research and present knowledge at ecological restoration related event.
- An ability to attract research funding. Professional designation is required (i.e. RPBio).
- Class 4 driver license.

**Salary Range**
- Salary Range: $65,045 - $113,545 per annum.**Additional Salary Information**
- Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.Position Details
