Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide essential support to our legal professionals and contribute to the smooth operation of our law firm. **This is an entry-level position**, so previous experience is not required, but certainly an advantage.
**Duties**:
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of legal documents
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Assist with drafting and proofreading legal documents, including correspondence, contracts, and pleadings
- Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette
- Interview clients to gather necessary information for case preparation
- File documents with the court system and maintain organized filing systems
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders
**Experience**:
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with Esi-Law or other law practice management software is preferred
- Strong research skills and ability to gather information from various sources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to proofread legal documents for accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management
- Professional phone etiquette
