Under the direction of the Supervisor: Kennel or Manager: Animal Care, the Attendant: Animal Care is responsible for providing animal husbandry care and maintaining the facility at the Ottawa Humane Society (OHS). Wages between $18.40 and $22.42 per hour. There are two positions available:

- Permanent Part Time: 42 hours biweekly during the summer from Mid-June to Mid-November and 39 hours in the winter from Mid-November to Mid-June
- Casual - Scheduled based on availability and organizational need to cover for vacation and sick days. Shifts typically are on evenings and weekends.

**What would you do?**
- Clean facility and animal areas
- Monitor animal health, welfare and husbandry through the maintenance of up-to-date kennel cards
- Maintain animals on a specified diet ensuring daily feeding, watering, exercise, and enrichment
- Support the activities of volunteers, students and work placements while on shift What are we looking for?

**What we are looking for?**
- Post-secondary school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years training, education or experience in animal care is required
- Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment and to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to people from a wide variety of backgrounds

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $19.14-$22.42 per hour

Schedule:

- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ottawa, ON K2E 1A6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

**Experience**:

- training, education or experience in animal care: 2 years (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)
