The Environmental Coordinator / Specialist will lead creation and implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMP) and associated controls and protections for Cormorant Projects (on construction sites).

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Monthly (sometimes weekly or daily) environmental monitoring of work activities to ensure compliance with environmental protection plans, client commitments, and relevant Acts and regulations;
- Evaluate environmental mitigation measures, including monitoring the effectiveness of erosion and sediment controls and water management;
- Maintain a photographic log during all construction phases, for internal compliance tracking;
- Conduct equipment inspections for fluid leaks and assist with spill prevention and response;
- Assist with the preparation of environmental incident reports, site-specific mitigation plans and daily environmental reports, as required;
- Lead permitting for projects if required;
- Oversee third patty consultants collecting field-based samples (i.e. water, soils) and record data and observations, including wildlife tracking;
- Installation, monitoring and assessment of environmental signage/delineators at sensitive features, including wetlands, waterbodies, and archeology sites if applicable;
- Assist in access planning that includes ensuring safe travel routes through right of ways
- Make ongoing recommendations for process improvements;
- Attend project meetings and present relevant environmental information as required;
- Adhere to all Cormorant policies, procedures, and safe work practices; and,
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**:

- University, College or technical diploma in environmental science or related discipline;
- A valid driver’s licence;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Knowledge of Provincial and Federal environmental legislation;
- Knowledge of ArcGIS or AutoCAD would be an asset;
- Affinity for working outside in remote locations;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving;
- Able to exercise effective time management and balance competing priorities; and,
- Experience in the Construction industry would be considered an asset.

**Salary**: $47,817.00-$68,856.00 per year
