Video Technician Lead

We’re looking for a **Video Technician Lead** to take charge of video-related projects from concept to execution—bringing creativity, technical expertise, and leadership to every stage. In this role, you’ll drive seamless coordination of multimedia deliverables and play a key part in delivering extraordinary experiences for our clients and audiences.
**What You’ll Do**
**Project Coordination**
- Act as the primary contact for all video production projects, aligning goals and expectations across teams.
- Schedule and coordinate logistics for productions, working closely with audio, lighting, rigging, and staging teams.
**Production Oversight**
- Set up, test, and configure video gear—cameras, projectors, switchers, video walls, monitors, and more.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real time to ensure smooth execution.
- Calibrate systems for top performance, ensuring high-quality visuals in every setting.
- Operate control systems for live shows, including multi-camera setups and visual effects.
- Maintain consistency across projects by adhering to brand guidelines and technical standards.
**Resource Management**
- Oversee inventory of video equipment, software, and licenses.
- Research and recommend tools to elevate production value.
- Manage routine maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades.
**Leadership & Training**
- Mentor staff and freelance crew on best practices and new tech.
- Offer creative direction for compelling video and multimedia storytelling.
- Establish efficient workflows and standard operating procedures.
**Cross-Department Collaboration**
- Work side-by-side with audio, lighting, staging, and IT teams to ensure seamless tech integration.
- Create detailed diagrams and cable paths for installation teams.
- Clearly communicate technical needs and constraints to stakeholders.
**Onsite Supervision**
- Lead video team installations, including union and non-union labor.
- Ensure all video gear is safely and properly installed.
- Manage crews, delegate tasks, and oversee day-of execution.
- Provide coaching and support to junior technicians.
**Quality Assurance**
- Conduct final checks and monitor video output during live events.
- Make real-time adjustments to maintain top-tier production quality.
**Time & Task Management**
- Keep projects on track and on time—even when handling last-minute changes.
- Adapt to evolving client and production needs with professionalism and poise.
**Client & Stakeholder Interaction**
- Serve as the onsite expert and go-to contact for all video-related needs.
- Address client feedback quickly and provide technical insights in real time.
- Help stakeholders understand what’s possible—and what’s not—within a given setup.
**Post-Event Wrap-Up**
- Lead the breakdown and packing of all video equipment.
- Report any issues for future improvement and support planning for upcoming events.
- Offer feedback on crew performance and equipment reliability.
**What You Bring**
- Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Film, Communications, or related field
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in video production or similar environments
- A strong track record of executing complex projects
- Technical proficiency and creative problem-solving
- Leadership and collaboration skills with both internal teams and external partners
- Ability to stay cool under pressure and deliver exceptional results
