**Role Overview**
The Construction Services Supervisor, reporting to the Operations Manager is accountable to ensure:
I. Operational area meets or exceeds performance expectations on all measures for day-to-day operation of multiple routes, daily administration and reporting at all levels is accurately completed and submitted.
II. Standard operating procedures are carried out according to Company safety programs and Occupational Health regulations.
III. Employees are actively coached and supported to grow their competence and contribute to fulfilling CWS business plans, strategy and shared vision.
**Key Results**
**Operational Execution**
- Supervise safe and efficient operations across multiple lines of business: Roll Off, Construction Fencing, Portable Toilets, residential construction.
- Work to improve Profitability across multiple lines of business: Roll Off, Construction Fencing, Portable Toilets, residential construction.
- Provide necessary operational reporting as required
- Ensure all lines of business are covered for daily routing
- Oversee and support operators with getting on route at the beginning of their shift as required.
- Ensure operator compliance and consistency with CWS operational and safety processes
- Coordinate and support drivers in efficiently completing their routes by providing guidance on returning to the shop and checking in with dispatch at the end of the day, while ensuring smooth communication and readiness at the start of the day.
- Perform site checks in conjunction with sales, management and operations.
- Perform on-going operator training including OBAs/Competency checks.
- Report any operational issues/concerns to management.
- Assist Dispatch with daily routing plan and routing questions/concerns.
- Assist Dispatch with equipment operational related questions.
- Ensure Pickup/delivery of needed equipment offsite is completed
- Support Dispatch/Management and other supervisors as required.
- Assist with Hiring and onboarding of new Employees
- Review and approve employee vacation requests, ensuring staff levels are sufficient to complete work each day.
- Support with employee discipline as required per company policy.
- Ensure accurate inventory of all Roll Off bins, Fencing, and Portable Toilet equipment is taken at least once each week.
**Safety**
- Safety procedures are continually followed to target zero incidents/lost time injuries/property damages.
- Ensure that all employees in their vicinity are following CWS safety policies, practices, and procedures and are fully trained. Provide onsite guidance when required.
- Daily review of FLRAs, Near Misses, Hazard IDs. Escalate to Operations Manager/General Manager as required.
- Be willing and able to answer any safety-related questions or concerns any other drivers may have. Ensure escalation when required, action and communication with employees.
- Assist in and conduct Incident investigations, and facility/equipment inspections as required.
- Receive and maintain first aid training, act as a first aider if required. Transport injured employees when required.
- Assist in the creation and updating of operational and safety SOP/SWP.
- Support training other drivers to follow SOP/SWP.
- Provide feedback regarding safety meetings and assist with safety Meeting topics.
- Host Safety Meetings/Toolbox talks when necessary.
- Oversee/assist with post incident corrective actions and OBA’s.
- Support safety personnel/management as required.
- Work with Fleet personnel to ensure all trucks that will travel on route are in safe condition and comply with the Department of Transportation regulations.
**Leadership**
- All staff receive training and tools required to execute the duties of their roles.
- Employees are trained on a variety of fleet equipment and successful completion of assigned tasks.
- Uses and models the CWS Leadership and Self Management behaviours effectively.
**Education**
- GED preferred.
- Safety certifications and driving certifications as required by site.
