This position will assist with the implementation of programming and daily care for children attending out of home respite, autism respite or recreation therapy programs within Development and Rehabilitation. This position will be required to provide services at the Thurston Site, the Smyth Site and in the community. Weekend availability is required for this position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Assist in the implementation of programming and development activities for the assigned client
- Assist in the implementation of all aspects of daily activities including set-up, take-down and clean-up of facilities and equipment.
- Assist with any physical care required for the assigned client,. (i.e.: lifting, transferring, assisting with toileting, positioning, feeding, etc.).
- Function as part of a team by communicating with staff, participants and their families.
- Carry out related housekeeping duties as required i.e. cleaning of toys, mats, etc.
- Daily documentation of care to assigned clients.
- Adheres to organizational policies and procedures related to privacy/ confidentiality, safety, infection prevention etc
- Participates in education and improvement activities related to quality and safety.
- Ensure supervision and safety of assigned clients.
- Because of the changing nature of the job and job requirements, duties and responsibilities may be added or deleted from time to time.
- Physical strength and stamina are required

QUALIFICATIONS
- Police Record Check (PRC) (Essential)
- College or University degree in a related field such as DSW, ECE, Nursing or Recreational Therapy or equivalent education and experience with special needs children. (Essential)
- Bilingualism (French/English) (preferred)
- Minimum 1-year recent related experience working with children with disabilities (Essential)
