The Materials Manager will lead the activities of the Procurement, Planning, and Warehouse teams to ensure a cohesive, coordinated flow of materials through the plant from customer forecast to shipping on time in full (OTIF). This role encompasses managing raw, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory to target levels, as well as leading the Sales, Inventory, and Operational Planning strategy to align with plant financial objectives and optimize equipment utilization to meet customer demand.

**Responsibilities**:
- Key Responsibilities:_
- Lead the Materials team in effective planning and execution to ensure manufacturing processes are prepared to meet production schedules on time and satisfy customer requirements OTIF.
- Oversee procurement team selection and vendor development, ensuring all company requirements are met, including competitive pricing, exceptional quality, and delivery.
- Negotiate or approve purchase agreements, pricing, and terms to meet pricing, delivery, and quality targets.
- Initiate and implement cost savings with vendors and manage vendor price increases.
- Maintain and enhance supply chain KPIs, reports, and processes for continuous improvement.
- Participate in product planning processes to ensure timely acquisition of materials.
- Implement effective systems for production scheduling and planning to meet customer OTIF targets.
- Analyze customer forecast data and identify potential constraints.
- Manage the capacity plan and recommend capital purchases as necessary.
- Maintain inventory levels consistent with business requirements and lean practices.
- Coordinate physical inventory and cycle counts and evaluate significant variances.
- Ensure warehouse organization, cleanliness, and optimized material flow.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and tariff controls.
- Manage premium freight costs and assist in department budget creation.
- Assist HR in strategic hiring, training, and performance appraisals.
- Promote and comply with safety standards and procedures.
- Serve as a mentor and coach to staff.
**Job Specifications**:
- Knowledge & Skills Required:_
- Minimum 10 years of experience leading Materials or Production Control teams.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in materials or supply chain roles in the automotive industry.
- University or college degree in manufacturing, supply chain, or business-related field.
- Working knowledge of materials management, MRP best practices, and ERP systems.
- Experience in sales and inventory operational planning with strong financial understanding.
- Strong negotiation skills and exceptional MS Office proficiency, particularly in Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and motivate staff.
