Job Summary:
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
- Will oversee all Material Management activities, including Shipping, Receiving, Production Kitting, Cycle Counting, Inventory Control and Materials Handling
- Coordinate efforts of the various materials functions through respective Team leaders ensuring timeliness and efficiency of material handling through the entire site
- Leads the recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, development, and disciplinary actions of materials associates
- Maintain accuracy & integrity of the Inventory Control System.
- Generate, maintain, and ensure compliance to Procedures related to Shipping, Receiving, Kitting, Materials handling, Cycle count, and ERP transactions
- Manage inventory at offsite 3PL warehouse
- Ensure timely coordination with all carriers and strive for high quality/ error free shipping/ customs paperwork.
- Coordinate and maintain cycle count program with the Supply Chain Leader.
- Control and lead all year end/annual counts.
- Oracle “Super User.” Primary contact for Oracle support as it relates to inventory transactions, materials support, and consignment/ Expense items updates.
- Oversee the disposition of nonconforming (NCR) raw material issues and related supplier RMAs.
- Establishes and maintains a safe and healthy work environment and provides a high level of safety awareness among the warehouse and materials teams
- Ensure mandatory training is current, i.e., Forklift Certification, WHMIS, TDG etc.
- Coordinate and implement cross-training within the Materials Team to ensure full support of operational requirements
- Assists as local representation for logistics needs for the Business Unit
- Provides guidance and leadership at a business unit level regarding import and export policies and procedures to ensure best in class practices and required compliance
- Develops strategies for improving key performance indicators and operations execution including, but not limited to, Receipt Cycle times, Inventory Accuracy, Shipment Accuracy, Throughput efficiency, Material Non-conformance Disposition
- Drive continuous improvement events through Lean methodologies and kaizen events
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline (Materials Management certification is a definite asset)
- Minimum 2 years electronics manufacturing background in a supervisory role
- Strong experience with ERP systems and inventory control principles
- Solid understanding of material operations and processes
- Possess strong communication, organization, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Leadership, interpersonal, team-building, and coaching skills are essential
- Effective communication to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
- Able to work in a rapidly changing environment under tight deadlines
- Advanced skills with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Physical Demands
No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally may be required. Travel between business units may be required from time to time
Mental Demands
The position involves an above average degree of attention and mínimal mental stress in an environment where interruptions may be ongoing.
Working Conditions
The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting. The working environment is clean; however, the individual may be exposed occasionally to dust.
Safety clothing and gear is required while working in safety sensitive areas. Otherwise, office/business casual attire is appropriate.
