**Program Manager, Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME)**
The School of Medicine, established in 1965 and renamed the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine in 2004, offers major programs in undergraduate, postgraduate and graduate medical education. The clinical programs use not only the teaching hospital and ambulatory care and research facilities at the McMaster University Medical centre division of Hamilton Health Sciences, but also the clinical teaching units at several of the major Hamilton hospitals and community health-care centres.
Since 2000, undergraduate enrolment at McMaster has more than doubled to over 600 medical students. Of the current intake of 203 first year medical students, 28 are admitted at each of the Niagara and Waterloo Regional Campuses and 147 in Hamilton.
The medical school draws upon the expertise and commitment of over 3000 faculty members in the pursuit of its education and research missions. The size, qualifications and mix of the faculty are sufficient for the attainment of the medical education program’s goals. The teaching faculty are very engaged with the mission of the MD Program, and contributions to undergraduate medical education are highly valued by the clinical Departments. All full-time faculty are required to contribute a minimum of 400 hours of educational activities each year, part-time faculty must have 100 hours of educational activity and adjunct faculty must have 50 hours per year.
McMaster has one of the largest Distributed Medical Education (DME) networks in Canada. Working with our partner institutions, including Ontario’s other medical schools, McMaster’s DME network is improving access to physician and health care services in areas of Ontario previously without physicians, helping provide health care to complex populations, and offering unique medical education opportunities in communities such as Six Nations.
McMaster’s DeGroote School of Medicine is an accredited undergraduate medical education program, with a long-standing commitment to innovation, creativity, evidence-informed programming, diversity, community engagement and social accountability. These commitments can be seen in much of our programming, are robustly supported by our faculty throughout Southwestern Ontario, and are exemplified by the success and engagement of our students.

DeGroote School of Medicine is seeking a Program Manager, Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) who will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Undergraduate Medical Education program over three campuses including Hamilton, Niagara Regional Campus (NRC) and Waterloo Regional Campus (WRC).
