Quality Technician

Provide an interface between the customer and the plant and monitor the daily activities of the Quality Department at a plant level.
- Acts as internal and external customer liaison for all quality issues.
- Co-ordinates problem containment process, including internal and external sorting.
- Ensures the RMA system is properly used and maintained for all customer concerns.
- Maintains appropriate performance indicators for each customer and KPI. (i.e. PPM charts, product analysis).
- Participates actively in the requirement to retain IATF 16949/ ISO14001 certification by monitoring and assessing the performance of the quality system on a regular basis to maintain system integrity.
- Responsible for performing Containment Activity upon receipt of customer or internal concern (Quarantine) as per Containment Procedure, including Hold Area maintenance.
- Completes first off/ last off assessment of parts as per measurement instructions and enters data into the SPC program. Complete all appropriate documentation completed.
- Completes product audits through daily station verifications.
- Assists with the scanning of material into the containment area.
- Strong problem solving skills
- Basic blue print reading
- Knowledge of SPC
- Basic knowledge of Control Charts
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be able to lift up to 15kgs
- Sitting, standing, walking, car travel for up to 4 hours
- Will be expected to travel as needed for company business
- Periodic weekend
- Rotating shift schedule every 2 weeks (day, afternoons, midnights)
- Experience within an injection molding environment - 2yrs _preferred_
- Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures
- Must have reliable transportation
