The Jungle Room is a Cocktail lounge/ Restaurant located minutes away from the beach in the West End. We specialize in Elevated street food taking inspiration from Japanese and Indonesian cuisine.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
Join our brigade as a Line Cook, where you can learn and grow within a team.
The Line Cook will be responsible for assisting the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in all aspects of the daily operation of the kitchen and maintaining the highest level of culinary excellence. Duties include, but are not limited to, expo, production, presentation, training, mentoring, menu planning, food safety and sanitation enforcement.
Please note that our kitchen and dishwashing area are air-conditioned.
**Line Cook Job Responsibilities**:
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared promptly by restocking ingredients at work station and meeting prep times to ensure smooth delivery
- Ability to prepare all recipes as per our recipe book and perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
- Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products
- Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
- Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
- Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep the cost within the forecasted range
- Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards, and Maintain a clean workstation area
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the line supervisor, sous-chef, or head chef
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and removing trash if needed.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
**Prep Cook Qualifications / Skills**:
- Food Safe level 1
- Accuracy, speed, and organizational skills in executing tasks
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent physical condition and endurance
- Being a team player, confident and coachable is very important to us.
**Education and Experience Requirements**:
- minimum 2 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or resort
- Understanding of cooking methods and procedures and knife handling skills
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Must be organized and self-motivated
- Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, lift, and carry heavy materials over 15kg.
