**Key Qualifications**
- MSc or PhD in Biology, Ecology, or a related field of biological sciences, emphasizing the importance of a strong foundation in ecological data management.
- Advanced technical proficiency in managing broad-scale data projects, including data governance and statistical software for data analysis and visualization.
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint), intermediate proficiency in Power BI and Power Automate.
- Extensive experience in data management within the biological sciences, evidencing the capability to handle large datasets, maintain data quality, and adhere to data governance standards.
- Advanced technical experience with data management tools, specifically with R and R Markdown.
- Intermediate experience with preparing ecological reports for invertebrates and/ or algae communities.
- Intermediate experience in supervising teams, mentoring staff, and leading data-related projects, reflecting leadership capabilities and ability to foster a collaborative work environment.

**Key Duties**

**Data Management and Strategy**
- Direct and oversee the work of Data Analysts and Technicians, ensuring high-quality data analysis and reporting.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures and templates for data entry and reporting.
- Facilitate the maintenance of a cohesive database and enhance data visualization capabilities.

**Technology and Process Improvement**
- Explore and integrate new software solutions for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Manage and update taxonomic and species information databases.
- Develop and maintain a complex species database, including tabular taxonomic information and nonstructured data.

**Collaboration and Leadership**
- Train and mentor new data technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Collaborate with taxonomists and technicians to ensure data is managed effectively.
- Align data management practices with organizational goals and client needs, contributing to strategic planning.

**Requirement**

Must have a current and valid work permit to work in Canada

**Instructions**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
