**PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER** **WE'RE HIRING** **2 CASUAL PSWs for our** **COMMUNITY** **OUTREACH PROGRAM (F009)** **LOCATION: TORONTO EAST/TORONTO CENTRAL** **Toronto East boundaries**: - **West - Victoria Park Avenue**: - **North - Steeles Avenue**: - **East - Morningside Avenue**: - **South - Gardiner Exwy/Kingston Rd** **Toronto Central boundaries**: - **West - Keele Street**: - **North - Steeles Avenue**: - **East - Victoria Park**: - **South - Lakeshore Blvd** **YOU MUST BE ABLE TO WORK THE FOLLOWING**: - Work in both Toronto Central and Toronto East (boundaries described above) - 3 days a week between Monday to Sunday - Of the 3 days, 1 must be a weekend either Saturday or Sunday & must be able to work at least a 4 hours period 6 am - 12 midnight - Of the 3 days, 2 are during the week and must be able to work at least a 4 hour period between 3 pm and 12 am **WHAT WE OFFER**: - $21.356 - $23.336 per hour plus $3/hr wage premium for eligible hours worked| Paid 30 minutes travel allowance | $0.40/hour in lieu of benefits (Group Benefits if full-time) - Opportunity to pick up additional hours in a supportive, inclusive & respectful environment - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) & Pension Plan - FREE _PPE _to keep you safe - FREE Professional Development & Training to grow your skills - Employee Recognition - Employee Service Recognition Program and more **WHAT YOU’LL DO**: - You will be part of a team that will be provide supports to a specific group of clients. When out in the community you will work independently in clients’ homes. You will establish and maintain your relationships with clients. You will provide personal support services for clients in their homes to assist with activities of daily living. (_Including:_ _lifts/transfers, bowel/bladder routines, dressing/undressing, skin care, respiration, meals/drinks, general hygiene)._ - Be part of the SEIU union **WHAT YOU’LL BRING**: - A passion for providing exceptional personal support services to male/female clients - Ability to lift and transfer clients - Manages time in co-operation with clients to complete tasks - Ability to accept direction from client's regarding services - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and judgment skills - Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 computer skills (Outlook, Word) **HOW TO QUALIFY**: - Completed a PSW Program that meets the appropriate standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Career Colleges, or the Ontario Community Support Association and must be 600 hours in duration (including class time and practical experience time). This also includes a PSW Program from an Adult and Continuing Education School Board. - 6 Months PSW experience gained in the physical disabilities sector - Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) membership would be considered an asset - Proof of First Aid and CPR certificate - Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Person) - Ability to travel between client appointments and willingness to work in the community If you thrive in an independent work environment and are interested in "**_Making a Difference" _**in our client's lives - then this role is for you
