THE ROLE:
Providing protection and support services to children and families as per THE CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES ACT
- Managing a caseload effectively with adherence to client-centred care and legislated requirements
- Supporting Child Welfare Team with coordination and delivery of groups, prevention workshops, domestic violence training, et cetera
- Coordinating specialized services within Child Welfare Team including Foster Care, Adoption, and Domestic Violence Support
- Completing all reporting and administrative functions in a timely manner
- Establishing and fostering relationships with a variety of collateral community partners including schools, medical professionals, service providers, along with departments within JCFS
- Participating in training opportunities, along with child welfare and JCFS events and initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
YOUR FIT:
- Bachelor of Work (BSW) from a Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) accredited school/faculty, or an equivalent degree plus experience
- 1 - 3 years of experience in a social services environment, with experience in a child welfare strongly preferred
- Expertise in delivering community programs and groups
- Expertise working within a trauma-informed lens, supporting victims of domestic violence, interacting with children and youth experiencing challenges, and the practice model utilized by the General Authority
- Proven experience with crisis management, non-violent intervention, and assessment of high-risk situations is an asset
- Excellent communication and problem-skills, with a proven ability to navigate competing priorities efficiently
- Understanding of The Child and Family Services Act, along with regulations and standards, and the General Authority Practice Model, and various standardized CFS assessment tools.
- Valid Manitoba driver’s license required, access to a reliable vehicle, and clean driver’s abstract
- Knowledge of the Winnipeg Jewish community is considered an asset
- Fluent in an additional language, such as Russian, Hebrew, French, or Spanish, is considered an asset
