**Position Summary**:
In this contract (summer) position, the Regional Finance Intern will be responsible for transactional data analysis, transactional data reporting, financial analysis, process flow mapping and other periodic activities as required.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Review of daily financial transactions including but not limited to:

- Sales Volumes and Dollars.
- Production Costing and Production Variance Analysis.
- Receiving transactions and Freight Cost.
- Inventory costing and valuation.
- Operational cost and facility cost drivers.
- Repair and Maintenance Costing.
- Facility CAPEX.
- Prepare, compile, and analyze account information.
- Analysis of financial results and explanations of variances.
- Preparation of journal entries.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends as required.
- Adherence to corporate accounting principles and policies.
- Other monthly responsibilities and/or special assignments.

**Required Qualifications**:

- College or University Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics (obtained or in process).
- Working towards an accounting designation (CA, CMA or CGA) would be an asset.
- 1-3 Years of experience in an accounting role.
- Knowledge of Microsoft products such as Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Access.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Analytically minded.
- Ability to show attention to detail and produce accurate work, within the constraint of deadlines.
