Reporting to the chief merchandising officer, the eCommerce merchandiser is responsible for creating and implementing the merchandising strategy of the rcpets website. This individual will develop and execute a strategy that unites digital marketing, enhances consumer experience and engagement to drive conversion rates to meet and/or exceed targets. This individual will also harness data, insights, market research to drive long term sustainable growth of the Direct-to-Consumer channel.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Implement online merchandising strategy and manage the product assortment with consumer journey in mind to have the right product at the right place and time to optimize conversion rates, leverage digital campaigns and support key product & seasonal initiatives.
- Establish a merchandising plan to create cross selling opportunities and shorten path to purchase.
- Manage product placement and optimize navigation on website: collection pages (themes, top sellers, new arrivals) landing pages, search functions, sort order, filters etc. to increase consumer engagement and optimize conversion rates.
- Implement a merchandising calendar aligned with the brand marketing calendar.
- Plan and coordinate the end-to-end execution of merchandising plan with various departments to implement all required assets on time with accuracy.
- Uses various analytics as well as market research to assess performance and adapt merchandising plan to optimize conversion rate and meet objectives.
- Collaborate with digital marketing lead to optimize product pages for SEO and create relevant content to support merchandising calendar, build awareness and / or promotions on slow moving / discontinued products.
- Performs regular site audits to ensure correct product display, efficiency of various links and overall product set up is accurate. Tests new features and functionality as needed.
- Work with Product, Sales & Marketing teams and attends meetings to contribute in developing compelling merchandising themes and story-telling.

**IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education and Experience**
- 5+ years in a previous e-commerce sales and / or merchandising role.
- Hands-on experience launching websites - previous experience with BigCommerce considered an asset.
- Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in business, ecommerce, merchandising or related field.
- Understanding of SEO to optimize architecture and copy of websites.
- Strong knowledge of website analytics such as Google Analytics and how to interpret the findings and generate sales and profitability.
- Market analytics to spot trends in online shopping and digital marketing.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $15.65-$41.06 per hour

**Experience**:
