**Who We Are**:
Squamish Nation consists of 23 villages and is comprised of descendants of the Coast Salish Aboriginal people who live in the present-day Greater Vancouver area, Gibson’s Landing, and Squamish River watershed. The Squamish Nation has occupied and governed the territory since beyond recorded history. The Squamish Nation's culture is rich and resilient. We continue to practice our customs and traditions, which are strongly interconnected with our traditional territory. Together with our lands, our customs and traditions are the foundations of who we are as Skwxwú7mesh.

As an organization, we provide support to the greater Squamish Nation Community through service. With 14 departments with individual areas of expertise, we ensure Community Members have access to necessary programs and services.

**About The Opportunity**:
Working as an integral part of the Ta na wa Ns7éyx̱nitm ta Snew̓iyelh Language and Cultural Affairs Department, reporting directly to Manager, Culture, this position acts as the department’s lead cultural Advisor to Squamish Nation community members, a liaison to external agencies, and as a support to departments regarding cultural activities for internal and external stakeholders. The Cultural Advisor as well, sits on various internal and external committees and provides community programming and supports cultural programming to organizations outside of the Squamish Nation. Acts as a backup to the department's culture team when needed. Delegates work and provide direction to the Cultural Coordinator. Reviews and approves all information from the coordinator team, and seeks clarification from the Manager where needed. The incumbent has strong knowledge of Squamish Nation's heritage, culture, traditions, and/or language.

***Salary**: $ 67,365 - $ 75,358 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program
