**The Opportunity**
The Custodial Worker I performs a variety of cleaning, garbage pick-up, set-up/take down of tables and chairs and minor maintenance tasks in an assigned building or building area. May require repeated heavy physical demand including but not limited to long periods of standing and climbing stairs.
The custodial teams of City on 99th and the RCMP detachment are entwined to a degree. Although the majority of your work will be as a single operator at City on 99, there will be times you work closely with the custodial team of the RCMP Detachment, as staff are shared between facilities to cover absences and maintain standards of cleanliness. The circumstance of requiring an Enhanced Security Clearance due to the special nature of working closely with Enforcement Services and an RCMP satellite office within a law enforcement environment, facilitates a reciprocal relationship between facilities to cover off temporary staffing shortfalls as they occur.

Responsibilities*
You will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning, garbage pick-up, set-up/take down of tables and chairs and minor maintenance tasks in an assigned building or building area. May require repeated heavy physical demand including but not limited to long periods of standing and climbing stairs. You will be working with a variety of people and departments; Enforcement Services, Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Preparedness, Mobile Outreach Program, Community Social Development, RCMP, and other stakeholders involved in protective services.
You will come in contact with individuals and experience situations unique to working in a law enforcement environment. The job demands your attention to detail and a very high level of discretion**.**

You Bring*
To be successful, the following requirements are needed:

- Valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers License may be required depending on the building
- Minimum two years experience cleaning and upkeep of a major facility
- Initiative and time management skills required to organize your own work
- Self-starting attitude with an exception service approach
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- Tactful Communication (verbal and written)with co-workers and customers
- Responsible to ensure building security and customer safety
- Ability to perform minor maintenance tasks within established facility standards
- Certification in First Aid and WHMIS
- Basic computer skills and knowledge
- Enhanced Reliability Clearance is required for this position and preference will be given to those with clearance
