Restaurant:
Fast-paced Vegan diner with a focus on fried comfort food including soy wings, burgers and fries. Delivery makes up most of our orders, but we also have many customers who dine-in.
Overview of position:
The day starts with setting up the kitchen, which may include cleaning 2 deep fryers. You will blanche fries, prepare foods (such as cooking collard greens and chopping veggies.) You will work with one other person once dinner service starts.
You will be required to use a deep-fryer, a flat-top, stove and oven.
At end of service, you are required to clean the kitchen: scrubbing all surfaces and shutting down equipment.
**Skills**:This job requires fantastic time management skills, an ability to move quickly and safely in a kitchen and an ability to stay focused and calm during dinner rushes.
This is a very physical job and requires someone who enjoys fast paced and energetic work.
The team:
We are a small team of long-time employees. The restaurant is owned and operated by two experienced women. You will work side by side with the owners and must be able to follow direction when required.
