**SUMMARY**:
Responsible for administrative duties associated with purchasing functions, including purchase order and sample entry into multiple systems; follow up with suppliers; internal coordination with R&D, Sales, Production, Receiving, and Quality Control departments.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform designated tasks associated with purchasing and planning of raw materials to produce flavor and fragrance products.
- Participate in supplier communications as instructed.
- Access multiple computer systems to enter and retrieve information to process and receive purchase orders, samples and maintain landed costing.
- Resolve pricing discrepancies, complaints, late deliveries, quality rejections, receiving issues, and claims with suppliers, carriers, and freight forwarders.
- Work closely with the R&D and Production teams to understand material requirements and ensure timely deliveries.
- Establish safety stocks and re-order points to achieve optimal inventory levels and improve on time deliveries.
- Maintain sampling database, documenting all required information.
- Obtain freight costs for the importation of raw materials.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on purchasing activities and cost analysis to management.
- Provide support as required to purchasing and sourcing teams.
- Perform any clerical duty assigned by management.

- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market data, supplier performance, and costs to make informed decisions.
- Must have excellent math skills and above average competency in Microsoft Excel.
- Relationship Management: Excellent relationship management skills to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address purchasing challenges and conflicts.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple purchasing activities simultaneously.
- Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with purchasing and inventory management software.
- Ethical Compliance: Commitment to ethical purchasing practices and compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy and thoroughness in managing information and completing tasks

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Required:

- 4-year undergraduate STEM, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably within the food industry.

Preferred:

- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with ERP software. Oracle a plus
