**Job Summary**
Alberta Maple Care Ltd. delivers high-quality, client-centred **home and community care** across Calgary, Edmonton, and surrounding areas. We’re seeking **compassionate, professional Health Care Aides** (certified or recently graduated in Alberta) to support seniors and individuals with disabilities to live safely and independently **at home and in community settings**. You’ll provide personal care, mobility assistance, light homemaking, companionship, and respite while documenting care in our mobile platform and collaborating with families and care teams.

In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care settings. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality patient care to seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting their independence.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and safe feeding per the care plan.
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for patients.
- Provide medication reminders/assistance and support pre-set meds (e.g., blister packs) as directed by the care plan and policy; promptly escalate concerns—no independent med administration.
- Plan/prepare simple, nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs; perform light housekeeping related to client care (laundry, tidying, sanitizing high-touch areas).
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry.
- Support ambulation, positioning, and safe lifts/transfers using approved techniques and equipment (e.g., transfer belts, mechanical lifts) per training.
- Document patient care activities accurately and communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding any concerns or changes in patient status.
- Offer social engagement, orientation/cueing, and behavioural prompts; provide dignity-centred support for clients with dementia.
- Monitor and document care, vital observations, and changes in condition in our mobile app; communicate early warnings to supervisors/regulated providers.
- Follow IP&C practices (hand hygiene, PPE, standard/droplet/contact precautions), maintain a clean, safe environment, and adhere to client-specific risk protocols.
- Deliver comfort-focused, dignity-preserving care under the established plan, support families with empathy and professionalism.
- Provide services in clients’ homes and community locations; maintain punctuality and reliability.

**Requirements**:

- Physically able to perform safe client handling and transfers with/without equipment.
- Strong communication skills in English; **compassion, professionalism, reliability**.
- Reliable means to travel to client homes; Class 5 Alberta driver licence and personal vehicle.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist patients with mobility needs.
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to help others.

**Assets (Nice-to-Have but not required)**:

- Previous experience in supportive living, nursing homes, or senior care is preferred.
- Certification in home care or nursing assistance is an asset but not mandatory. Join us in making a difference in the lives of those we serve by providing compassionate health care support

- Additional languages and cultural competence.
